Besvimelse - hva skjer?

Besvimelse, eller synkope, er plutselig tap av bevissthet som skyldes forstyrrelser i hjernens funksjon, vanligvis forårsaket av forbigående lavt blodtrykk. En besvimelse går over av seg selv.

Besvimelse skyldes i de fleste tilfeller en midlertidig nedsatt blodsirkulasjon i hjernen på grunn av langsom puls og fall i blodtrykket.
