Blodpropp i lungene

En blodpropp i lungene skyldes at en blodpropp som har dannet seg i en vene i bena eller bekkenet, har løsnet og fulgt blodstrømmen opp til lungene. Der vil blodproppen kile seg fast.

Årlig får ca 4.500 personer lungeemboli i Norge. Det tilsvarer omtrent 85 nye pasienter hver uke året rundt.
