Forsnevring i aortaklaffen, aortastenose

Aortastenose er en forsnevring av åpningen mellom venstre hjertekammer og hovedpulsåren. Etter hvert kan dette føre til sviktende hjertefunksjon. Den eneste helbredende behandlingen er kirurgisk innsetting av ny ventil.

Forsnevring i aortaklaffen er den vanligste ervervede klaffesykdommen.
