Nerveskader ved diabetes, diabetisk nevropati

Diabetisk nevropati er en senkomplikasjon til diabetes. Det er en skade på nervene utenfor det sentrale nervesystemet samt i det ikke-viljestyrte, autonome, nervesystemet. Hyppigst rammer det nerver i bena, noe sjeldnere nervene i armene.

Diabetisk nevropati finnes i ulike varianter. Den vanligste rammer i hovedsak følenervene.
