Total hofteprotese, kunstig hofteledd

Innsetting av en totalprotese i hofteleddet innebærer at både lårbeinshodet og hofteskålen erstattes med kunstige protesedeler. Gode forberedelser før inngrepet og riktig opptrening etter inngrepet bedrer prognosen.

Hofteprotese vurderes som regel når andre behandlinger, som smertestillende midler, ikke lenger virker.
