Kneleddsartrose

Knærne er sammen med hofteleddene de leddene i kroppen som belastes mest gjennom livet. Slitasjeforandringer i brusk eller ben i kneleddene er en hyppig tilstand som kalles kneleddsartrose. Behandlingen er opplæring og informasjon om tilstanden, vektreduksjon ved overvekt eller fedme, tilpasset fysisk aktivitet og øvelser livet ut, eventuelt smertestillende medisiner og avlastende tiltak. Hos noen få pasienter kan det være nødvendig med proteseoperasjon, der det vil settes inn et kunstig kneledd.

Artrose i kneleddet kalles det når leddbrusk eller bein i kneleddet er endret slik at overflatene ikke lenger er glatte og symmetriske. Forekomsten øker med alderen. Hos en del personer medfører forandringene symptomer, hos andre ikke. Foto: Colourbox
