En personlighetsforstyrrelse er kjennetegnet ved avvik i personligheten. Tilstanden kommer til uttrykk allerede i ungdomsårene og fortsetter inn i voksen alder.

Omtrent 10 prosent av befolkningen oppfyller diagnosekravene til en eller flere personlighetsforstyrrelser.
