Lymfødem

Lymfødem er en varig tilstand med økt ansamling av lymfe utenfor lymfeårene. På grunn av hemmet lymfedrenasje vil en arm eller et ben, sjeldnere tosidig, bli permanent hovent. Det skilles mellom medfødt type og lymfødem som skyldes annen sykdom.

Det finnes ingen helbredende behandling for denne tilstanden. Men mye kan oppnås ved behandling hos fysioterapeut og med egenbehandling.
