Plutselig død hos idrettsutøvere rammer cirka 1 av 200 000 unge idrettsutøvere per år. De aller fleste tilfellene skyldes feil med hjertet.

Det er et vidt spekter av tilstander som kan forårsake plutselig død under fysiske anstrengelser hos unge idrettsutøvere.
